Terms of Use
Effective September 27, 2026. The rules for using The Script Pad, including subscriptions, content, and limits of liability.
Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of thescriptpad.com, including its websites, newsletters, podcasts, and related services (together, the "Services"), operated by The Script Pad ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you use the Services on behalf of a practice, hospital, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" includes that organization.
Eligibility
The Services are intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. The Services are written for licensed physicians and other healthcare professionals, although anyone of legal age may read our public content. You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
Not Medical, Legal, or Financial Advice
The Services provide editorial and educational content for healthcare professionals. Nothing in the Services is medical advice for any individual patient, and nothing creates a physician and patient relationship between you and us or any contributor. Clinical content, including any Clinical Pearls, is general information and does not replace independent professional judgment, current clinical guidelines, product labeling, or the policies of your institution.
Content about compensation, contracts, investing, taxes, regulation, or law is general information only and is not legal, financial, tax, or accounting advice. Consult a qualified professional about your specific situation.
If you are a patient with a medical question, contact your own physician. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are for individual use and may not be shared, except under a group subscription that we have approved. Notify us promptly at the address below if you believe your account has been used without authorization.
Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
Plans. We offer free and paid access. Current plans, prices, and included features are described on our Subscribe page and may change over time.
Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on each renewal.
Price changes. We will give you notice of any price increase before it takes effect on your next renewal. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the renewal.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing legal@thescriptpad.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods. If you are charged in error, contact us within 60 days and we will investigate and correct any billing mistake.
Free trials and promotions. If you start a free trial or promotional rate, the plan converts to a paid subscription at the standard price when the trial or promotion ends unless you cancel before then.
Taxes. Prices may not include applicable sales or similar taxes, which will be added where required.
Our Content and Your License
The Services and all content in them, including articles, headlines, photographs we license, graphics, audio, the Clinical Pearls format, logos, and the names The Script Pad and Rounds, are owned by The Script Pad or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your own professional and non commercial purposes. You may share links to our articles and use the share images we provide for the purpose of linking to the article, and you may print or save a reasonable number of articles for personal reference.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell, sublicense, or distribute our content, remove copyright or attribution notices, frame the Services, or create a substitute or competing product from our content without our prior written permission.
Your Submissions
If you send us pitches, articles, letters, comments, or other material ("Submissions"), you confirm that you own or have the rights to it and that it does not violate anyone's rights or any law. Unless we agree otherwise in a separate contributor agreement, you grant us a worldwide, royalty free, perpetual license to use, edit, publish, and distribute your Submission in any medium, with attribution where we publish it under your name.
Do not submit protected health information. Do not include any information that identifies a patient in any Submission, comment, form, or email to us. Remove names, dates, images, record numbers, and any other identifying details before sharing a case.
We may edit, decline, or remove any Submission at our discretion. Contributors must disclose relevant financial relationships as described in our Editorial Standards.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Services in violation of any law or professional obligation
- post or send content that is defamatory, harassing, fraudulent, misleading, or infringing
- share information that identifies a patient
- scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data by automated means, or use our content to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models, without our written permission
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with their operation
- circumvent paywalls, access limits, or other technical measures
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your credentials or affiliation
Third Party Links and Services
The Services may link to or embed third party websites, podcast platforms, payment processors, and other services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
Advertising and Sponsored Content
We may display advertising and publish sponsored content. Sponsored content is always labeled. Its inclusion does not mean we endorse any product, service, or company. Editorial content is produced independently of advertisers.
Copyright Complaints
If you believe material in the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@thescriptpad.com that includes a description of the work, the location of the material, your contact information, a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond to valid notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and may terminate repeat infringers.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON INFRINGEMENT. Medicine changes quickly and content may become outdated. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SCRIPT PAD AND ITS OWNERS, EDITORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR ANY CLINICAL, BUSINESS, OR PERSONAL DECISION YOU MAKE BASED ON THEM.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Script Pad and its owners, editors, contributors, and suppliers from any claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your Submissions, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third party right.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk for us or others. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law, will survive.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You and we agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction there. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at legal@thescriptpad.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any plan terms shown at purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to legal@thescriptpad.com or through our contact form.
